Liebt den Herrn aus aller Kraft: 
Zu, von selbst, fällt euch die Liebe, 
Die da Wonn' und Wunder schafft. 
  Hell geht auf der schöne Stern,
  Liebt ihr treu nur Ihn, den Herrn!

  Folgt dem Herrn! Zu seinem Bilde 
Schauet auf nur fort und fort! 
Seine Demuth, Treu' und Milde 
Künde sich in Thun und Wort! 
  Nie erbleicht der schöne Stern, 
  Folget nach ihr Ihm, dem Herrn! 

  Traut dem Herrn! Und will er schicken
Zu der Freude Kreuz und Pein, 
Sein Erbarmen, sein Erquicken 
Muß noch viel Mal süßer sein. 
  Ist umwölkt auch euer Stern,

  Love the Lord with every fiber of your being,
Love the Lord with all your might:
The love that creates bliss and miracles
Shall spontaneously be yours.
  Your radiant star shall rise brightly
  If you only love Him, the Lord!

  Follow the Lord! Only look up
Ever and ever at His image!
May His humility, faithfulness and kindness 
Proclaim themselves in your deeds and words!
  Your radiant star shall never fade
  If you follow Him, the Lord!

  Trust the Lord! And should He wish
To send a cross and suffering in addition to joy,
His mercy, His comforting
Must yet be many times more sweet.
  Though your star may be covered by clouds,
  Only trust Him, the Lord, all the more.

  Love the Lord, the Lord before all others,
He who loved you unto death!
And however your lot may fall,
Ah! with Him there is no reason to despair!
