by Justinus (Andreas Christian) Kerner (1786 - 1862)

Frühlingsmorgen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Wann die Lämmer wieder springen,
Lerchen jubeln, Rosen glühn,
Muß das kränkste Herze singen
Und im Welken noch erblühn.

Wer in bangen Lebensschmerzen
Einsam jetzt die Straße geht,
Singet selbst aus düstrem Herzen,
Wie ein Lied aus Wolken weht.

Wer verbannt, das Aug' in Tränen,
Jetzt im fremden Lande zieht,
Durch betaute Blumen tönen
Läßt der seiner Heimat Lied.

Flüsse, Saaten, tönend wallen;
Aus dem fernsten Himmel blau
Weht ein Singen, lieblich Schallen,
Über Wald und helle Au.

Alter Gram, nun zeuch von hinnen,
Fülle nicht dies Herze bang!
Strömet ein von Himmelszinnen
Morgenrot und Lustgesang.
