by Guido (Pieter Theodoor Jozef) Gezelle (1830 - 1899)

o Morgenstond, uw blij gelaat
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
o Morgenstond, uw blij gelaat,
na lang getreur, mij hopen laat
dat eindlijk eens een enklen dag
ik, vrij en vroo, u groeten mag!

Komt hier en straalt mijn hert en zin,
mijn lijf en ziel uw blijdschap in,
en duwt mij, zucht- en klagens moe,
de diepe en duistre wonden toe!

o Zoet genot, vol zaligheid,
zoo laat gevoeld, zoo lang verbeid,
o morgenstond, vol hemeldrank,
verblijft... al ware 't hier eeuwen lang!
