Der Brunnenquell, bei dem ich schlief, 
Läuft noch so schnell, als einst er lief, 
Und plaudert viel mit mir.

Wann, o süßes Mägdelein,
Werd' ich wieder bei dir sein
Wohl bei einem rauschenden Brunnen?

Bei diesem hier, bei jenem dort, 
Zu jeder Stund', an jedem Ort, 
Nur einmal noch bei dir!

And chatters with me a lot.
