by Karl Gottfried von Leitner (1800 - 1890)

Und bin ich dereinst verschieden
Language: German (Deutsch)
Und bin ich dereinst verschieden,
So lieg' ich im Grab' auf der Bahr;
So bin ich im Tode verlassen,
Wie ich im Leben es war.

Die Schollen am Grabesraine,
Sie rollen nicht selbst herab,
Das Kreuz, das ich gezimmert,
Es steiget nicht auf mein Grab.

Die Blumen, die ich gepfleget,
Sie geh'n nicht trauernd herzu,
Die Glocken, die ich geschwungen,
Sie läuten mir nicht zur Ruh'.

Die Harfe nur seufzet manchmahl
Am Abende wunderbar, --
Und bleibet noch treu dem Todten,
Wie sie's dem Lebenden war.
