by Ferdinand Ludwig Anders (1806 - 1872), as Ferdinand Stolle

Die Sonn' ist still und schön geschieden
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die Sonn' ist still und schön geschieden,
im grünen Wald ging sie zur Ruh!
Ein wunderbarer Abendfrieden
schliesst sanft der Blumen Augen zu.

Die letzten Rosenschleier sinken,
das letzte Abendrot verglüht:
da tönet durch die Kirchhoflinde
ein wundervolles Abendlied.

Die Abendglocken sind's sie klingen
wie Engelstimmen übers Feld;
auf ihrer Töne sanftes Schwingen
zieht süsser Frieden durch die Welt.

Anbetend schwingt in Freud und Wonne
die Seele sich zum Sternenzelt:
Wie hell erglänzt der Liebe Sonne,
wie schön, o Gott, ist deine Welt!
