Wann das Abendroth die Haine
NOTE: the footnotes have been removed from this text; return to general view
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wann das Abendroth die Haine
Mit den Abschiedsflammen küßt,   --
Wann im prächt'gen Morgenscheine
Lerchenklang die Sonne grüßt,   --

O dann werf' ich Jubellieder
In's Lobpreisen der Natur,
Echo spricht die Töne wieder,
Alles preist den Ew'gen nur.

Mit den Quellen geht mein Grüßen,
Und das taube Herz in mir
Hat dem Gott erwachen müssen,
Der uns schirmet für und für.

Meereswogen laut erklingen,
In den Wäldern wohnt manch Schall;
Und mir sollten nicht besingen
Da die Freude überall?
