Hei da, lieve dreupel water,
zijt gij helder toch en schoon,
in uw hemelsch lichtgeschater
en uw diamanten kroon!
Rood en blauw en groen en geluw,
peersch en purperwendigheid
siert, in onderling gespeel, uw
pinkelende uitwendigheid!
Hei da, heldere lichtkrystalle,
diamanten waterding,
moet ge op de aarde nedervallen
uit is 't met uw flonkering!
Neen en daalt niet, och en daalt niet,
aardsche grond is al te vuil,
houdt u ver van hier, en valt niet:
houdt u in den hemel schuil.
