Heilig ist mir Dankbarkeit!
Sie umschlingt mit süßen Banden Menschen,
Die sich spät verstanden,
Mir ist sie - Ersatz für Leid.

Heilig ist mir dieß Gefühl!
Es geleite mich zum Grabe,
Bis ich keine Kraft mehr habe,
Und der Tod mir winkt zum Ziel!
