Heida, lieve dreupel water,
zijt gij helder toch en schoon,
in uw hemelsch lichtgeschitter
en uw diamanten kroon!
Rood en blauw en groen en blauw,
peersch en purperwendigheid
siert, in onderling gespeel, uw
pinklende uitwendigheid!
Heida, heldre lichtkrystalle,
diamanten waterding,
moet g' op d' aarde nedervallen
uit is 't met uw flonkering!
Neen en daalt niet, och en daalt niet,
aardsche grond is al te vuil,
houdt u ver van hier, en valt niet:
houdt u in den hemel schuil.
