Een meezennestje is uitgebroken,
dat, in den wulgentronk
gedoken,
met vijftien eikes blonk;
ze zitten in den boom te spelen,
tak-op, tak-af, tak-uit, tak-in, tak-om,
met velen
en 'k lach mij, 'k lach mij, 'k lach mij bijkans krom.

Het meezenmoêrtje komt getrouwig,
komt op den lauwen noen,
al blauwig
en geluwachtig groen;
het brengt hun dit en dat, om te azen,
tak-om, tak-op, tak-af, tak-uit, tak-in,
ze razen,
en kruipen, vlug, het meezennestjen in.

Het meezenvaârtje zit - de looveren
verduiken 't voor 't gestraal -
te tooveren,
al in de meezentaal;
daar vliegen ze, al med' een, te zamen,
tak-om, tak-op, tak-af, tak-in, tak-uit,
en, amen,
het meezennestje is weêrom ijele en uit.
