Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
O Schoone roozenmond,
en buiten alle grenzen
van lieflijkheid, die, eerst
ontloken, op mij lacht,
uw leven is te broos
en moet, och arme, slenzen
eer morgen hier is. Op!
herleeft in mijn gedacht!

Daar zult ge, vrij en blij,
van verwen onbedorven,
weérspiegeld in den grond
van mijn geheugen staan,
en leven: zij uw' stam,
uw' wortel, al, gestorven;
zij de ongestuime wind
gaan spelen met uw' blaân!
Spelling change used by Verhelst: lieflijkheid -> lijflijkheid
