Die Nachtigall im Garten singt wohl die ganze Nacht.
Die Nachtigall im Garten ist freundlich mir gesinnt,
Sie singt von meiner Liebe dem allerliebsten Kind.

Gar hold sind mir die Rosen, sie bringen durch die Luft
ein Ständchen meinem Kinde von lauter süßem Duft.
Nun schweben Duft und Klänge in Liebchens Fensterlein,
Da ziehn durch ihre Träume die gold'nen Melodei'n.
