Der Blumen Dank
 (Sung text for setting by K. Kern)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
   Verschwunden ist die dunkle Nacht,
Die liebe Sonn' ist aufgewacht;
Nun klingt und singt es nah und fern
Zum Lob und Preis des treuen Herrn.

   Das Lied der Vöglein froh erschallt,
Und klinget frisch in Feld und Wald;
Die Lerche singet jubelnd vor
Und trägt ihr Lied zu Gott empor.

   Die Blume still zum Himmel sieht,
Säng auch wohl gern ein Jubellied
In ihrem Auge wunderbar
Glänzt eine Träne hell und klar!

Sie lobt den Herrn, so gut sie kann,
Und auch ihr Lob nimmt gern er an.
Du aber singe täglich neu
Von Gottes Lieb' und Gottes Treu!

   The dark night has vanished,
The dear sun has awakened;
Now there is singing and ringing near and far
To the praise and glory of our faithful Lord.

   The song of the birdlets resounds joyfully,
And rings out freshly in field and forest;
The lark leads the singing jubilantly
And carries their song up to God.

   The flower gazes quietly toward the sky,
It, too, would gladly sing a song of jubilation
how wondrously in its eye
A tear sparkles brightly and clearly!

   It praise the Lord as well as it can,
And its thanks, as well, He gladly accepts.
But you should sing every day anew
Of God's love and God's faithfulness!
