Des Einsiedels Grab
(Sung text for setting by A. Hüttenbrenner)
 Matches original text
Language: German (Deutsch)
Dieß Grab hat mir gegraben
Mein eigenes Grabescheit,
Es liegt darin als Kissen
Schon weiches Moos bereit.

Ich steige selbst hinunter,
Naht einst mein Stündlein heran.
Wer legte wohl sonst zur Ruhe
Den todten Siedlermann?

Dann falt' ich die Händ', und bethe
Und dreh' am Rosenkranz,
Und schaue wartend zum Himmel
Voll rosigem Abendglanz.

Set to music by Anselm Hüttenbrenner (1794 - 1868), "Des Einsiedels Grab", confirmed with a CD booklet
