Heilige Liebe
 (Sung text for setting by A. Bungert)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Schreib' du an jenem Orte
Mit eigner Hand die Worte:
"Die ewig ich liebe,
Sie ruht allhier."

Treu' hab' ich ihr geschworen,
Und hab' sie nun verloren;
So sei nun der Tod
Mein einziger Trost!

Und sollten meine Füße
Deinen Grabstein betreten;
So schick' nur einen einzigen
Seufzer zu mir!

Denk' meiner in der Stille,
Die in des Grabes Hülle
Uns einet der Tod,
Mein einziger Trost!

Gedenk' an jene Stunde,
Bestreu das Grab mit Blumen,
Mit Rosen und Veilchen,
Vergissnichtmein!
