Morgonstråle
(Sung text for setting by L. Netzel)
 See original
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
Kom, vackra morgonstråle,
kom klar och skär i österns rand,
på vindens lätta fåle
sträck ut kring haf och land!
        Kom att oss bry,
        färga ny
        dagens hy
och hvar mulen morgonsky!

De tysta djupa vatten
i sund och vikar sofvo nyss
sin söta sömn i natten
vid tusen stjärnors kyss.
        Vinden han drog
        tidigt nog
        öfver skog,
tills hvar bölja vaken log.

Det gnistrar och det glimmar
som eld och guld i morgonskyn,
och hvarje bölja simmar
så rosenröd om hyn.
        Silfret jag såg,
        hur det låg
        öfver våg,
och jag själf blef rik i håg.
