Es glüht die Nacht, und tausend Sternlein zieh'n,
und aus den Rosenbüschen schaut der Frieden;
ein weicher Sommerwind geht durch den Garten hin
mit müden Flügeln, und er schlummert ein.
Mit träumte so, ich wär' ein Sommerwind,
der in den Rosen seinen Frieden suchte
und all sein Glück; doch war's wohl nur ein Traum!
