An Laura
(Sung text for setting by F. Eisenhofer)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Der schwüle Tag hat sich verloren,
Die Nacht ist hier:
O Laura! was du mir geschworen,
Das halte mir.

Sieh jenes Dach von Rebenblättern,
Wo niemand lauscht,
Wo du mit mir, vor allen Göttern,
Dein Herz vertauscht.

In diese Laube laß uns schleichen,
Die Venus schützt,
Auf der (für uns ein gutes Zeichen!)
Ihr Vogel sitzt.

Dann blicke Luna auf uns beyde
Von ihrem Thron,
Und seufze bey so vielen Freuden:
Endymion!
