To Drosler sad paa Bøgeqvist,
Saa gode Venner var de vist.

Med Sorg i Sind så tyst de sad,
thi ak! de skulde skilles ad. 

Saa sang de begge To en Sang,
den sørgeligt i Skoven klang. 

Den Første sang: „Min Hjertenskær! 
Farvel! Saa sees vi aldrig meer!" 

Den Anden sang: „Min Hjertensven! 
Farvel! Vi sees ei meer igjen!" 

Den Første sang: "Paa fjerne Vei
min Hjertenskær jeg glemmer ei!" 

Den Anden sang: „I fjerne Bo
mit Hjerte aldrig fanger Ro!" 

Een fløi til Øst, og Een til Vest:
„Nu har til Brud jeg Sorgen fæst!" 

Een fløi til Vest, og Een til Øst:
„Farvel, farvel! - foruden Trøst!"
