Language: German (Deutsch)
Jenen Abend sassen wir
mit in lustigem Kreise,
und wir spielten, scherzten mit
nach der alten Weise.

Und nach strengem Spielgesetz
sollten wir uns duzen,
doch wir wagten beide nicht,
dieses Recht zu nutzen.

Duzten rechts und duzten links,
wie sich's mochte schicken,
sagten zu einander nichts
außer kaum mit Blicken.
