der strengene klinger

min kærest og jeg, vi er også blandt dem.

I dansen vi træde, 
men dølge vor glæde,
dybt gemmes i barmen vor hemmelighed;
vi blusse, vi gløde! 
Det er just det søde,
at ingen i verden det aner og ved.

Vi vove selv ikke 
at mødes med blikke,
skønt lænkede ved det usynlige bånd;
hvad tavshed bevarer, 
mig sødt åbenbarer
et tryk af din lille, velsignede hånd.

Som snoren af hvide 
koraller mon glide
let gennem din fletnings sortglinsende pragt,
