  Frommen Menschen tröstend auf und ab;
  Treten weinend an ein Blumen-Grab,
  Wo die Brust versank, an der sie ruhten.

     Sind wir würdig seufzen sie hinauf
  Zu der hohen Welt, voll Sternenschimmer
  Fortzudauern über diese Trümmer:
  Dann, du stille Lichtflor, nimm uns auf.

     Nimm uns auf und heile diese Schmerzen,
  Und vergüte, was dein Pilger litt!
  Ach, wir bringen tiefzerrißne Herzen,
  Bringen thränenvolle Wangen mit!

     Unsre Herzen sind voll Todtenmahle,
  Wie der Rasen im Zypressenthale.
  Zwischen Gräbern seufzen wir hinauf:
  Stille Lichtflur, nimm uns rettend auf;
