Ein Kinderlied
 (Sung text for setting by F. Lachner)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Schlafe süß in Gottes Schooß,
Stürmt auch kalt der Wind;
Gott beschirmt ja Klein und Groß,
Schlafe süß mein Kind!

Ohne Sorgen schlaf in Ruh'!
Lächle froh im Traum!
Gottes Liebe deckt dich zu,
Träum vom Weihnachtsbaum!

Träume von den Röslein klar,
Von den Lilien rein!
Spiele mit der Engel Schaar!
Träum vom Jesulein.

Was zu dir das Kindlein spricht,
Nimm' es wohl in Acht!
Sag mir's ja, vergiss es nicht,
Bist du aufgewacht.
