Sommerlied
 (Sung text for setting by J. Marx)
 Matches original text
Language: German (Deutsch)
O Sommerfrühe blau und hold!
Es trieft der Wald von Sonnengold,
In Blumen steht die Wiese;
Die Rosen blühen rot und weiß
Und durch die Felder wandelt leis'
Ein Hauch vom Paradiese.

Die ganze Welt ist Glanz und Freud,
Und bist du jung, so liebe heut
Und Rosen brich mit Wonnen!
Und wardst du alt, vergiß der Pein
Und lerne dich am Wiederschein
Des Glücks der Jugendsonnen.
