Stille Sommernacht
(Sung text for setting by F. Kamm)
 See base text
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die Pappelzweige rauschen,
Vom Abendwind geweht,
Und holde Sterne lauschen
Herab auf's Blumenbeet.
Es ruhen die Fluren in Dämm'rung gehüllt,
Und Träume durch schweben das stille Gefild.

 ...

Es zirpt die kleine Grille,
Im Grase glänzt der Thau,
Und tiefe heil'ge Stille
Herrscht auf der Blumenau.
Den glücklichen Schäfer umschattet die Nacht,
Nur sehnende Liebe im Herzen noch wacht.
