Morgen
(Sung text for setting by K. Reissiger)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Grünender Hügel
Was lachst du so hell?
Buntes Geflügel,
Was fliegst du so schnell?
Blümlein was blüht ihr
Auf grünender Au'?
Bächlein, was zieht ihr
So tief, so blau?

Hügel, umschling'dich
Mit Wintergewand!
Vogel, o schwing' dich
In fremdes Land!
Blumen, verflieget
Dem Winde zum Hohn,
Bächlein, versieget! ...
Sie ging davon.

Blumen und Hügel
Wohl bleiben am Ort,
Haben nicht Flügel
Und können nicht fort.
Vögel und Bäche
Auf, eilet zu ihr;
Jegliches spreche:
Er schickt mich dir!
