Perlen der Weisheit sind mir deine Zähne!
 (Sung text for setting by O. Schoeck)
 Matches base text
Vergess' ich ganz der Welt unreine Späne;
Doch um dein schönstes Lächeln zu gewinnen,
Verlieren sich in Torheit meine Pläne!

Composition:

    Set to music by Othmar Schoeck (1886 - 1957), "Perlen der Weisheit sind mir deine Zähne!", op. 38 no. 6 (1923) [ baritone, flute, oboe, bass clarinet, trumpet, timpani and piano ], from Gaselen: Liederfolge nach Gedichten von Gottfried Keller, no. 6, Leipzig: Breitkopf & Härtel

Text Authorship:

  • by Gottfried Keller (1819 - 1890), no title, appears in Trinklaube, in Gaselen, no. 6
