Gedenken
(Sung text for setting by P. Cornelius)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Kehr' ich zum heimischen Rhein,
    Lacht mir so hold
    Leuchtendes Gold,
Dein Gold, rheinischer Wein.

Kehr' ich zum heimischen Rhein,
    Augen so licht
    Fehlen da nicht,
Sternhell glänzet ihr Schein.

Kehr' ich zum heimischen Rhein,
    Wecket sein Lauf
    Lieder mir auf,
Drinnen im Herzensschrein,

Und so gedenke du mein!
Weil ja mein Sang die auch erklang,
Mägdlein, Blume am Rhein!
Und so gedenke du mein!
