Ich bin der kleine Postillon, tra-ra, tra-ra, Kenn alle Weg' und Stege schon, tra-ra, tra-ra! Viel Briefe trag ich hin und her, Von Seufzern und von Liebe schwer. Noch eh die Lerchen singen, Laß ich mein Hörnchen klingen, Der Postillon ist nah, tra-ra, tra-ra, Der Postillon ist nah! Ich bin der kleine Postillon, tra-ra, tra-ra, Mein Hörnchen hat gar süßen Ton, tra-ra, tra-ra,! Voll Sehnsucht lauscht ihr seinem Klang, Das Lieb ist weit, die Zeit ist lang. Doch eh die Lerchen singen, Laß ich mein Hörnchen klingen, Der Postillon ist da, tra-ra, tra-ra, Der Postillon ist da!
