Das Kind im Walde
(Sung text for setting by E. Straesser)

Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  FRE
Ein Knäblein hatte verlaufen sich,
Und irrt in dem Wald umher,
Es schreiet und weinet bitterlich.
Es hungert und frieret sehr.

Durch dunkle Tannen brauset der Wind,
Dumpf krachen Zweige und Ast.
Wie läuft so eilig das zitternde Kind,
Die Angst läßt ihm nicht Rast.
