Herbstklage
(Sung text for setting by L. Le Beau)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ach! von einem Tag zum andern
Ist des Sommers Lust vorbei!
Vögel denken schon an's Wandern
In der Luft mit gellem Schrei.
    Nebel wallen,
     Blätter fallen,
Lieber Wald, lieber Wald,
Ach! wie bald doch, ach!, wie bald!

  Kommt die Sonne Morgens wieder,
Fort sind alle Blumen schon
Und verklungen alle Lieder!
Nur noch leise klingt ein Ton
    Fern mit Schauern
    Und mit Trauern:
Armer Wald, armer Wald,
Ach! wie bald doch, ach!, wie bald!
