Frau Nachtigall
(Sung text for setting by F. Abt)

Language: German (Deutsch)

Frau Nachtigall, kleins Waldvöglein,
Flieg hoch zum Sonnenstrahl,
Und sing recht in die Welt hinein
Ein Lied vom Schwarzathal!
Und grüßen sollst du von mir schön
Gar manches liebe Herz,
Und denken soll's an jene Höh'n,
An Wanderlust und Scherz.

Frau Nachtigall, nun flieg hinaus
Und gelt, verstehst mich schon,
Richt gar den Gruß recht lustig aus,
So recht im Wanderton!
Die Zeit ist hin, der Duft entfloh,
Der bunte Strauß ist fahl,
Im Herzen aber klinget froh
Das Lied vom Schwarzathal.
