Winter II
 (Sung text for setting by F. Celis)
 Matches original text
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
Vol naalden vliegt de lucht,
vol priemend ijsgekertel,
dat glinstert in de zon,
en, met den asemtocht
gezwolgen, kilt en kerft
de kele en 't haargespertel,
dat in de neuze temt
den toevoer van de locht.

't Is bijtend koud. Een spree
van witheid, ongemeten,
't zij waar ge uwe oogen vlucht,
ligt overal gespreid;
't is snee' tot in uw huis,
't komt snee' door al de spleten;
't is snee', 't is immer snee',
en al sneeuwwittigheid.

De wind komt, wild en boos,
gesnoeid uit alle gaten;
geen ruste en wilt hij, eer
hij eenmaal weten zal
dat 't volk verdwenen is,
en hem wilt meester laten...
't Is bijster, bijtend koud,
en 't wintert overal.
