so schwül ist ihr, so bang,
sie tränke Wasser gern,
wär nur der Quell nicht fern. 

"Grossmütterchen mach schnell,
hol' Wasser mir vom Quell!"
Indess' die Alte eilt,
ein Bursch bei Süsschen weilt. 

"Bist Mütterchen, zu gut,
bringst labend frische Fluth,
ein andermal bring mehr,
doch eile nicht so sehr."
