Wie der Sterne große Schar
Sich im blauen Dunkel weitet
Und die Seele wunderbar,
Die so tief in Schmerzen war,
In das Land des Friedens leitet!

Tiefer atmet meine Brust
Deine selig reinen Wellen,
Klare Nacht! Und unbewußt
Füllt mein Herz aus tiefen Quellen
Sich mit neuer Lebenslust.

Ringsum trugen nah und weit
Menschen ihre schweren Lasten.
Leise hast du sie befreit,
Sorge, Leidenschaft und Streit
Ausgelöscht. Sie dürfen rasten.

Ernste Stille, heilige Ruh,
Fürder durch des Lebens Wirre
Leite meine Wege du,
Führe mich durch Kampf und Irre
Den erlösten Brüdern zu!
