Draussen, wo der Weg sich scheidet
 (Sung text for setting by J. Pache)
 Matches base text
Language: German (Deutsch)
Draußen, wo der Weg sich scheidet,
liegt ein schattig stiller Platz,
dunkles Moos den Boden kleidet;
dort traf oft ich meinen Schatz.

Oben rauschen grüne Bäume,
wilde Rosen blüh'n im Hag,
und ich denk' an süße Träume
und an Worte, die sie sprach.

Klagend singen Nachtigallen,
Träne hin auf Träne rinnt,
denk' an Schwüre, die gefallen
und so leicht gebrochen sind.

Composition:

    Set to music by Johannes Pache (1857 - 1897), "Draussen, wo der Weg sich scheidet", op. 115 (Drei Männerchöre) no. 3, published 1891 [ men's chorus a cappella ], Leipzig, Siegel
