by Alfred Edward Housman (1859 - 1936)

O, when I was in love with you
(Sung text for setting by D. Hagen)
 See original
Language: English
Our translations:  GER
Oh, when I was in love with you,
Then I was sweet and brave,
And miles around the wonder grew
so well did I behave.

But now the fancy passes by,
And nothing will remain,
And miles around they'll say that I
Am quite myself again.
