    Ännu går dansen kring eken
    och dansen är mig kär,
    men går jag själv i leken,
    är sorgen också där.

    Och sitter jag vid väven
    att söka mödans fred,
    då kommer sorgen även,
    och sorgen väver med.

    Och vandrar jag i skogen
    en kväll att trösta mig,
    då vandrar sorgen trogen
    på samma tysta stig.
