Omars Nachtlied
(Sung text for setting by N. Burgmüller)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Hell glühn die Sterne im dunklen Blau,
Voll duften die Blumen im Abendtau,
Und in der Laube von Bülbüls Lied
Süss eingesungen schlummert Nahid.
Sanft bebt die Lippe, die Wangen glüh'n,
Die schönste Rose im Myrtengrün,
Und schlüge sie erst die Augen auf,
Ihr Sterne hemmtet den Strahlenlauf.
Ihr Augen droben, ihr Sterne hier,
Ihr Blumenwagen, du Blütenzier,
O weilt ich ewig in deiner Pracht!
O Blumen! Sterne! O sel' ge Nacht!
