Der fløj en Fugl over Sti
(Sung text for setting by T. Rangström)
 Matches original text
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Der fløj en Fugl over Sti,
Stille jeg bad i den dæmrende Lund:
Flyv i min Favn og læg paa min Mund
    Din smæltende Røst!
Den kvad: min Sjæl blev Sang i dit Bryst,
    Mig selv fanger Du ej!

Der sprang en Hind over Sti,
Stille jeg bad i den dæmrende Lund:
  Snehvide Syn i Længslernes Stund,
    O dvæl hos mig, dvæl!
Jeg saa' dens Blik, jeh saa' i dens Sjæl,
    Den sky, flygtende Hind.

Saa vide færdes min Fod,
  Flyttes hvor Mennesker græder og ler;
Fuglen jeg hører, Hinden jeg ser,
    Saa vide jeg gaar.
Til Lægeurter kender mit Saar --
Kun Sang, sød som mit Savn.
