Mais j'aime mieux les crins sanglants de ma monture,
Mais j'aime mieux l'écume au mord de mon coursier.

Ta main est bien légère à mon cou, quand je frôle
Ta robe, je sens naître un frisson sous ma peau ;
Mais j'aime mieux le poids des armes sur l'épaule,
J'aime mieux le baiser palpitant du drapeau.
