Și floarea vieții mele curînd s-a vestejit !
Durerea e mai crudă și jalea mai amară
Cînd simți că mori departe de tot ce ai iubit !

Încet-încet simțirea în mine amorțește.
Un negru nor deasupră-mi tot vine și iar trece.
Se tulbură-a mea minte, suflarea mea slăbește,
Pe inimă-mi se pune o greutate rece.

O ! suvenir al țării ! cerească mîngăiere !
Alungă-n depărtare cumplitul negru nor,
Să văd lumina iarăși, să simt reînviere,
Să cînt iubita țară, apoi voios să mor !
