Language: Danish (Dansk)
Der var kun To paa denne Jord,
Som var ung Jørgen tilpas;
Det var hans gamle Bedstemoer,
Og saa hans Hund, Kyrads.

Hun gav ham, hvad han pe-ged paa,
Og talte aldrig haardt;
Hun klappede hans hvide Kind,
Naar andre stødte ham bort.

Og da det gik ung Jørgen imod,
Saa deelte hun hans Nød;
Og da det gik ham altfor skjævt,
Tog hun derover sin Død.

Og Hunden kom og slikked hans Haand,
Naar han fortvivlet græd,
Og da han sprang fra Langebro,
Saa sprang hans Kyrads med.

O, finder man paa denne Jord,
Førend man skilles ad,
Et Par, som er en huld og tro,
Saa kan man være glad.
