Im Garten unter der Linde
 (Sung text for setting by F. Schreker)
 Matches base text
Language: German (Deutsch)
Im Garten unter der Linde
hab' ich die stille Nacht
in süßen Deingedanken,
mein Liebchen, zugebracht.

Ich sah zum nächtigen Himmel,
zwei Sternlein glänzten klar,
als schaut' ins sehnende Herz mir
dein zaub'risch Augenpaar.

Und Wolken zogen darüber,
als schlössen die Augen sich zu;
schlaf' wohl, Herzlieb' in der Ferne,
schlaf' wohl, mein Engel du!

Composition:

    Set to music by Franz (August Julius) Schreker (1878 - 1934), "Im Garten unter der Linde" [ voice and piano ], from Jugendlieder, no. 3
