by Jens Peter Jacobsen (1847 - 1885)

Navnløs
Language: Danish (Dansk)
En Aften jeg mindes for alle,
Mindes den grant, vemodig stolt
Og jublende ydmyg. -
Tyst var der i Stuen,
Syngende Tavshed,
Lampens Skjær faldt saa klart og mildt
Over de fine dejlige Træk;
Og jeg saa - men ikke, at Lyset faldt
Over de fine dejlige Træk -
Nej! det var, som min Sjæl
Vugged i skabende Vælde
Aasynet frem af Lysets skjælvende Strøm.
Og Øjnene saa paa mig saa længselsmilde,
At min Tanke hvidsked' i sælsomt Mod,
At jeg var værd at eje ...
Saa droges Trækkene ind i Skyggen.
Ej Ord blev talet,
Ord var for tunge for min Tanke,
Og Haandtryk ikke vekslet,
Thi ej jeg mindedes, at jeg var til.
Og dog jeg ved, vi to vi høre sammen,
At aldrig noget vil os kunne skille,
Var hint Sekund endog vort sidste Møde.
