possibly by Gustave Flaubert (1821 - 1880) and possibly by Joseph 'Chevalier' Bard (1803 - 1861)

La chanson du printemps
Language: French (Français)
Refrain:
Ah! reste, reste dans mon cœur,
 premier reve d'amour,

(Refrain)

Note: some catalogues give the poet as Flaubert, but the score indicates "Chevalier Bard", who could be Joseph "Chevalier" Bard, according to The Solo Songs of Darius Milhaud: A Historical and Analytical Contribution to the Curriculum of the College Voice Studio, a dissertation by Anne L. Patterson presented at University of Florida, 1989.
