by Heinrich Leuthold (1827 - 1879)

Hin
Language: German (Deutsch)
Als der Sommersonne Gluthen
Noch auf den Gefilden ruhten,
Fühlt' von Poesie und Liebe
Ich den Busen überfluthen.

Um die Mauer gelb und traurig
Seh' ich nun die Rebe ranken;
Herbstwind weht durch mein Gemüthe
Und verwelkt sind die Gedanken.

Gib mir jenes Meer von Wonne,
Gib auf's neue meine Lieder,
Süße Maid, o gib mir eine
Jener Sommernächte wieder!

Confirmed with Gedichte von Heinrich Leuthold, Dritte vermehrte Auflage, Frauenfeld, Verlag von J. Huber, 1884, page 44.
