Seit ich von dir, Junglieb, geschieden, Wie einsam ward das Leben mir! In Klostermauern sucht' ich Frieden, Und weltentronnen rast' ich hier Vor meinem Pergament, dem weißen, Und geize nach Gelehrsamkeit. - - Frômund war ich dereinst geheißen, Nun schweigt mein Mund von froher Zeit. Doch oft im Lenz lacht lindes Wetter, Dann fällt mir wohl ein Sonnenstrahl Herein in die vergilbten Blätter, - Da wach' ich auf mit einemmal. Und Buch und Feder werf' ich nieder Und alle Weisheit war ein Wahn! O wär' ich Frômund, Frômund wieder Und deiner Einfalt unterthan!
