La mar estava alegra
Language: Catalan (Català)
Available translation(s): ENG
La mar estava alegra, aquest migdia;
tot era brill i crit i flor d’escuma,
perquè feia molt sol i el vent corria.
Al lluny es veia un gran mantell de bruma.
Damunt les ones, amb les veles dretes,
les barques hi brincaven com cabretes.

The sea was joyful
Language: English  after the Catalan (Català)
The sea was joyful, at midday;
it was all glitter, and sound, and blossom of foam,
for the sun was shining bright and the wind was blowing.
In the distance, a large mantle of mist could be seen.
Over the surge, with the sails tight,
the boats jumped like young goats.
